How to Make BBQ Chicken Crescents

Appetizers can spark up any event, whether it's a party or a simple snack before dinner. Why not try BBQ chicken wrapped in crescent rolls? Here's how to make them.

  • 1 can (8 ounces/226g) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1/4 cup refrigerated original barbecue sauce with shredded chicken, from an 18 ounce (510g) container
  • 1/4 cup (30g) finely shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon (6g) finely chopped green onion

  1. 1
Pre-heat the oven to 375° F (190° C). Prepare the baking sheet by laying baking paper over it or greasing it.

Combine the shredded chicken, cheese, and green onion in a small bowl. If necessary, cut up chunks of chicken into smaller pieces.

Divide the dough half into two rectangles (two regular crescent triangles make one rectangle). Pinch the triangles together and repeat with the other half. Use a pizza cutter and cut each rectangle into six squares, about 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm).

Place about a teaspoon of the shredded chicken mixture in the middle of each square.

Wrap each square into a triangle by folding it in half. You can either pinch the crescent ends together or just do a simple fold-over. Prick each triangle at the top to allow steam to escape and place on the baking sheet.

Bake for about 9 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm and with a side of blue cheese dressing.

  • If the chicken mixture is made in a batch, consider other possible ideas for the leftovers. Examples could be using the mixture for soft fajitas, tacos, or casseroles.
  • Try this recipe using shredded pork or beef instead of chicken.
