How to Make Baba Ghanoush

If you love hummus, then you’re ready for Baba Ghanoush. Hummus has been Americanized. Everyone loves hummus, however what many people have not heard of is something similar to hummus only better. Baba Ghanoush is a Mediterranean spread and dip made out of eggplant whereas hummus is made from chick peas.

Ingredients

Serving size 1-3 people

  • 1 eggplant
  • 4 tablespoons sesame tahini
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt

Optional Ingredients (After the Ghanoush is prepared)

  • pita bread
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • pomegranate seeds.

Steps

    Wash the eggplant.

    Preheat the oven to 375 °F (191 °C).

    Poke the eggplant all over with a fork.

    Place eggplant on foil.

    Bake whole eggplant until well done (around a half an hour). You want the eggplant to be soft.

    Peel off the skin of the eggplant.

    Put all of the ingredients listed above with the eggplant in the food processor.

    Cool and stir.

  • Foil (to place the eggplant on in the oven)
