How to Make a Toy Pacman

Two Methods:Rubber ball PacmanFelt Pacman

If you love Pacman and you want it to become real, then here is a guide to making your very own toy one!

Method 1
Rubber ball Pacman

  1. Image titled GetStuff Step 1 19
Gather up the things needed (listed below).
    • Choose a ball that is quite small, so that the arms and legs don't look out of proportion with the body.
  2. Image titled CutStick Step 2
Add the legs. Cut one of the toothpicks in half. Push the pointy end of one half of a toothpick into the rubber ball. Stick the other half (point end again) in, ensuring that it sits close to the one already added.
    • Make sure the legs are stuck in well, so that they don't fall out.
  3. Image titled RepeatArms Step 3
Add the arms. Repeat the same actions with the other toothpick's pointy ends. This time, position them in the correct area to form Pacman's arms.
    • Make sure the arms are stuck in well, so that they don't fall out.
    • To make the Pacman toy stand (and give him or her some cute little hands), take some little pieces of clay and stick them into the ends of the toothpicks.
  4. Image titled DrawFace Step 4
Add facial features. Use the permanent marker to draw a face on the ball. Add the traditional Pacman eyes and a big smile. See the image for details of the design.
  5. 5
Done. The toy Pacman is now created. It is not suitable for young children, owing to the small size and sharp pieces.
    • Make a family of Pacmen and Pacwomen. Give each one a different face with the marker.

Method 2
Felt Pacman

  1. 1
Make a stencil design of Pacman. Draw a circle, then carve out a triangle piece (or pie piece) for Pacman's mouth. Cut around this design for the paper template.
  2. 2
Fold the yellow felt in half.
  3. 3
Apply the paper template to the folded yellow felt. Pin in place if it helps, otherwise hold in place.
  4. 4
Cut out two pieces of the Pacman shape. Pin together.
  5. 5
Join both pieces together permanently. Either stitch or hot glue all the way around the Pacman pieces, leaving the top section open. This will join most of the toy Pacman together but leaves the gap for stuffing.
  6. 6
Add the filling from the open top section of the Pacman.
  7. 7
Stitch or glue the Pacman together completely.
  8. 8
Add an eye. This can be done in any of the following ways:
    • Draw an eye with fabric marker or fabric glitter.
    • Cut out an eye shape using black felt. Stitch or glue in place.
      • If you only have white felt, color it black with a fabric marker.
  9. 9
Done. The felt Pacman toy is now ready for play.

  • A plain, yellow rubber ball would look the best. Another color would work, but try to keep it plain.
  • Attach a ribbon or key chain to the felt Pacman toy for a hanging decoration or key chain holder.
  • In the second method, there is no need to draw a mouth because the cut out triangle pie piece creates this effect on its own.

  • The pointy ends of the toothpicks may be dangerous.
  • The permanent marker may stain clothes, so be careful.
  • Make sure the ends of the arms and legs that are sticking out are filed down, otherwise they may be dangerous.
