How to Make a Storm With Your Yamaha Ez 200 Keyboard

This is a really cool way to test out the sounds on your Yamaha EZ-200 keyboard. (WARNING: Make sure you check out the "Things You'll Need" before you start trying this project.)

  1. 1
Turn on your EZ200 by pushing the "Standby/On" button.
  2. 2
All of the keys should light up and the digital screen should show "YAMAHA".
  3. 3
The digital screen should now show "GrandPno". (If it doesn't, push the "Voice" Button next to the digital screen. )
  4. 4
On the keypad to the right hand side of the digital screen, punch in "339".
  5. 5
The digital screen should show "339" and "Shower".
  6. 6
Now is the tricky part. Hold down your Sustain pedal and push a couple of notes. It sounds like rain, no?
  7. 7
Now keep your Sustain held down, let go of your keys and push the plus sign on your keypad. It should now say "340" and "Thunder".
  8. 8
Keep that Sustain pedal held, and push the keys again. Now it is rain and thunder! Not your full storm yet. Keep going!!
  9. 9
Keep Sustain down and push the plus sign on your keypad. Now it should show "341" and "Wind". Now push some keys. Rain, thunder, wind, almost your full storm, but something still seems missing....
  10. 10
Still holding your sustain pedal down, push the plus sign again. Now it should show "342" and "Stream". Press some keys, and VIOLA! You have a storm!

  • If you think that the storm doesn't need some of the sounds that I included, just take them out! You can experiment on what sounds you include, what order they are in, anything you can think of!!
