How to Make a Ribbon Watchband
If your regular watchband has broken or you simply don't like it, consider replacing it with a ribbon you really like. It's a simple fix and you could even replace the ribbon regularly to match clothing or your mood.
Steps
- 1Select a suitable piece of ribbon. The ribbon chosen should be at least the width of the watchband that you're replacing. Depending on the strength of the ribbon, it may need to be slightly bigger or folded double to give more strength.

- 3Thread the ribbon through each of the watchband bars on either side of the watch face.
- 4Finish off the ends of the ribbon by cutting a V shape. This will prevent the ribbon from fraying at the ends.
- 5Tie around your wrist to keep it in place. It's recommended that you make a small double knot to ensure that the watch stays in place. You may need to make readjustments during the day.
- 6Finished.
Tips
- Make as many ribbons lengths as wished. Choose different colors that match your clothes, etc. and change the watchbands regularly as needed.
- Consider making a 7-day color set of watchband ribbons and arranging them in a box with a watch as a gift for a good friend. You'll know your friend's preferred colors, so choose accordingly.
