A Meatloaf is a great versatile meal that can be eaten and served in many different ways. Many people think a Meatloaf is hard to prepare and takes hours to make, however there is a simple method for making meatloaf. The recipe below will show you how to make meatloaf easily in approximately 60 - 90 min.

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork (if available, otherwise additional ground beef)
  • 1/2 cup grated onion
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce (such as A1)

Method 1
Making the Meatloaf

    Preheat your oven to approximately 350 F.

    Mix together all of your ingredients including the beef, pork, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper; into a large mixing bowl.

    Place the entire mixture onto a baking sheet and then gently form the mixture into a loaf about 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide by about 3 inches (7.6 cm) tall.

Making the Meatloaf Sauce

    Mix the ketchup and steak sauce together in a separate mixing bowl.

    Keep half of the sauce to be served alongside your Meatloaf after it is cooked, and spread the other half of the sauce evenly along the top of the actual loaf itself.

    Cook the meatloaf until a meat thermometer reads 150 F

    Remove the meatloaf from the oven then let it sit in an open space for approximately 5 minutes before serving.

    Cut the meatloaf into 3/4-inch slices and then place the rest of your sauce on the side.

Tips

  • Be extremely careful not to let any raw meat come into direct contact with the sauce you will be saving for later

Warnings

  • The meatloaf will generally take about 1 hour to cook, however time will always vary depending on the width of your meatloaf and strength of your oven.
  • If you don’t have a thermometer to check if your meatloaf is cooked, you can always check it with a knife. Your meatloaf is cooked when the juices run clear and no pink remains in the center at all.
