How to Make a Pompom Easter Chick

A pompom Easter chick is simple to make and can be put to many uses. For example, it can sit in an Easter basket, be attached to gifts and used in decorative settings. These are so simple that children can make them too, which can give them something to do while you make a more complex craft.

Steps

    Assemble the supplies needed. These are listed below.

    Glue one pompom on top of the other pompom. It should look like a snowman.

    Fold the little rectangle of orange paper in half to form a triangle. Cut off the edge. This forms the beak.

    Glue the beak onto the chick's head. The center fold should be placed sideways so that the beak opens as it would on a real bird.

    Cut the green paper to look like a small piece of grass. Make it curved to look nicer.

    Glue the base of the chick to the green paper.

    Make the eyes. Either draw on eyes with a marker or stick on googly eyes.

  • Two yellow pompoms per chick; one larger than the other (body and head)
  • Small orange rectangles of paper (for the beak)
  • Green paper or cardstock (for sitting the chick on, representing grass)
  • Liquid or gel craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Marker or googly eyes
