How to Make a Plant Person

You can make a plant person with a head with thick green "hair". It can sit on a plate in your kitchen. As you eat, watch it grow gorgeous locks of "hair".

  1. 1
Cut the foot from an old nylon stocking.
  2. 2
Place two table spoons of grass seed in the toe.
  3. 3
Fill the foot with sawdust, vermiculite, perlite or soil. Then secure with a twist tie.
  4. 4
Turn the foot upside down. Place on a plate or saucer. Then shape into a round, face-like figure.
  5. 5
Push in thumb tacks for the eyes, mouth, nose or even add ears. You could cut out felt and glue the facial features on.
  6. 6
Moisten your plant everyday, but don't overdo the water! Be sure to keep your "head" in a sunny spot.
  7. 7
When your "hair" grows, create your favorite style. What about a mohawk, flattop or shag cut?

  • Keep your plant moist and in sunlight. If not, your plant may not grow.

  • Don't let the thumb tacks cut a hole allowing your sawdust, vermiculite, perlite or soil fall out.
