How to Make a Lemon Flea Spray

Tired of using those chemicals from the vet to rid your pet of fleas? This method is a little more intensive (as you will need to use it frequently along with grooming) but it can work for your cat, dog, or even rodent if used regularly.

Steps

    Slice a lemon.

    Place the slices into a bowl of boiling water. Leave to stand overnight.

    Pour the lemon liquid into a spray bottle.

    Spray on your pet. Be careful to avoid the eye area and sensitive areas such as the nose and mouth.

    Comb or brush through. Groom daily and repeat the spraying weekly.

Tips

  • If preferred, simply dampen your pet using this mixture rather than spraying it, and comb through. Some pets will react negatively to being sprayed.

Warnings

  • If your pet shows any signs of irritation, discontinue immediately. It may be that your pet is allergic to citrus.
  • Be aware that most cats hate citrus odour.
