How to Make a Diffuser for Any Camera With a Pop up Flash
A diffuser can make a huge difference in your photographs. Your image will be less harsh (from less direct lighting) and you will have fewer parts of the shot that are blown out. However, diffusing an on-board flash is a little different from your larger hot shoe flash. Read this article to learn how you can make your own.
Steps
- 1Take a look at your camera and ascertain the approximate size that you will need and what you have to work with.
- 2Have a piece of tissue paper or thin paper towel large enough to cover your flash and be fastened by a rubber band.
- 3Place the paper over the flash and the rubber band over the paper. In this screenshot, a very large twist tie was used.
Tips
- Experiment with your chosen diffuser before you take your desired photos. You want to know how your shots will look and if adjustments need to be made.
