How to Make a Desk Stationery Caddy

Make a stationery caddy in under an hour with only a shoebox and some used tp rolls.

Steps

    Collect about 10 or more toilet paper rolls, based on the size of your shoebox. Keep them safe somewhere and tell all your family members to give you their used tp rolls when they're done with them. Or else you'll be stuck on this step for ages!

    Get a shoebox, preferably a new and sturdy one, which will ensure that it lasts for a long, long time.

    Cut off the shoebox cover.
    • Use a sharp blade, so the edge won't be jagged and ugly, unless that's the effect you're going for.

    You can choose to cover the shoebox with wrapping paper or even paint it.
    • However, if you're shoebox looks good enough, go ahead and skip this step.

    Arrange the tp rolls inside the shoebox.
    • You can even use existing stationery containers you have.

    Arrange your stationery in your now complete caddy according to type or usage.
    • For example:
      • Pencils with pencils
      • Colour pencils with colour pencils
      • Pens with pens
      • Paper clips with paper clips

    Remember to keep it neat and tidy, or it defeats the purpose of the stationery caddy.

Tips

  • Remember to keep it neat and dust it once in a while.
  • You can use the cover of the shoebox as extra storage if you place it upside down under the shoebox, letting part of it stick out.
  • You could also put it flush against the side of the shoebox, for a border and extra stability.
