How to Make a Computer Setup
Do you have an awesome collection of electronics, but you can't figure out a way to set them up so that you can actually use them? Create an awesome tech setup!
Steps
- 1Invest in some good office equipment. You'll need a desk. Look for something that's strong enough to hold a few computers. Cable management systems are a plus! Also, you'll need a comfortable chair.
- 2Buy some electronics. Get a good desktop computer- not a store brand machine, and possibly a laptop or a netbook, too.
- 3Purchase accessories. Speakers, wireless mice, keyboards, external hard drives, or anything that you see important.
- 4Set it all up. Put the monitor(s) at eye level and make sure that the keyboard is within easy reach.
- 5Spend some time testing it out. Make sure that everything runs smoothly and that all electronics are working properly.
- 6Make final changes. If something doesn't work as planned while testing, fix it!
Tips
- Keep cables organized. There's nothing worse than having to un-tangle the wired mess to find the power adapter for your laptop.
- If you plan on buying netbooks or laptops, get a laptop stand. They help angle the keyboard toward you for a better feel.
Warnings
- Be careful not to shock yourself while messing with components that are plugged in.
