Checklists are useful tools that can enhance your articles if you have lists of ingredients or items that the reader needs to be aware of. There is a specific format in wikiHow that will help your article to conform to the expected standard checklist for wikiHow articles; this article explains how to make them in both guided and advanced editor formats.

Tips

  • If you need more than one checklist, place a gap between items on the checklist and add the next list. Simply use the spacebar to make a whitespace gap, then proceed with the next checklist. For example, a recipe may need a checklist of ingredients for both the "Cake" and then the "Frosting", and this will allow you to make make two separate checklists, one after the other. Be sure to add the headings to make it clear what each checklist relates to.
  • If you have used methods in an article, you can make separate checklists relating to each method by using a whitespace gap between each list under either Ingredients or Things You'll Need, adding a heading relating to the method, then adding the checklist for each method as outlined above.
