How to Make a Benham's Disk

The Benham's Disk is a disk which proves that the hand is quicker than the eye. If you don't agree with that, you can find that it is true by making a Benham's Disk.

Steps

    Gather your materials. Consult the "Things You'll Need" section for your needed materials.

    Draw a circle with five to six cm as radius on a white paper. Then, cut it out

    Colour one half of the circle in black colour. Divide the white half into four equal parts.

    In each segment, draw three black arcs about one-quarter inch or six mm thick as in the picture.

    Cut out a similar cardboard circle.

    Place the white paper on the cardboard disk.
  7. 7
    Push a screw through the center and secure it with a nut.
