How to Make 3D Text With Texture Effects With Paint.Net

Paint.Net is a great program that is fairly easy to learn and has a lot of graphical 'kick' to it. Here you will learn how to make 3D textured texts with it.

Steps

    Be sure that you have the plugins you need. It is a good idea to read the tutorial completely to make sure you have all of the plugins.

    Make a white to black radial gradient. To make it, click in the center and drag away and it should be fairly centered. (layer 1)

    Make a concrete layer. (layer 2)

    Make a new layer (layer 3) and put in your text. For this article, it will be wikiHow.

    While on the text layer, run the Perspective plugin.
    • Use these settings until you are familiar with the effect you want to achieve.

    Using the move tool:

    move your text to the center of your project.

    your text layer and put them in this order.
    Basically, reverse the order of the original text and the duplicate.

    Run the Drop Shadow plugin on the Drop Shadow layer.

    On the Drop Shadow layer, go to Adjustments >> Invert Colors.

    Using the Layer Merge icon
    merge the Master layer into the Drop Shadow layer.

    Create a new layer above the concrete layer. Use the Bucket to fill it with black.
    • Tip: Be sure that it is black and not orange!

    Merge the text layer to the black layer.

    Go to Edit >> Select All (keyboard shortcut: CTRL+A), then Edit >> Copy (keyboard shortcut: CTRL+C).

    Undo everything up to the point where you merged the two text layers. There should be two text layers again.

    Move the Concrete text layer above the Drop Shadow layer.
