How to Keep Your Monster High Doll in Great Condition

We all love Monster High, right? We all want to have fun with them and play with them, but we still want them to be safe and keep their hair and clothes in good condition. Learn how to here!

Steps

  1. 1
If their hair gets super tangled, DO NOT BRUSH IT! Unless you want your doll to be bald, follow the next step.
  2. 2
Remove the doll's clothes and gently wash her hair over a sink, then apply lots of conditioner. Let the conditioner sit in the hair for 30 minutes, then rinse it out thoroughly. Feel the hair. If it is less tangled, gently brush though it and then let it dry. If it is still very tangled, repeat this step.
  3. 3
When playing, do not throw the dolls around or play too hard.
  4. 4
Give the head a gentle squeeze. If the head is hard, then you should be fine to brush her hair. However, if it is nice and squishy, then do not brush her hair too much and don't tug on it. The hair isn't glued and can fall out.
  5. 5
If the doll has very long hair, (around ankle length like Dot Dead Gorgeous Spectra) do not brush it too much in hopes it will get softer. The more you brush long hair, it forms into a big tangled poof ball and an ugly sight.
  6. 6
If your doll has flock on them, (Venus, Clawd, Ghouls Rule Clawdeen) do not get it wet. The "shaved" hair will immediately come off and there will be complete baldness on it.
  7. 7
If they come with stands, put them on the stand and on a shelf when not in use.
  8. 8
Their face can easily get dirty, simply get a wet washcloth and wipe it carefully.
  9. 9
If you want to give the doll a boil perm, make sure you do research on it and have a responsible adult help you. You do not want the hair to be too hot, and can destroy her hair.
  10. 10
Do NOT pull her limbs out too much. This will wear down the joints and eventually cause the tip of the peg to snap off, resulting in a limb that will not stay on any longer.

Tips

  • If her hair is extremely tangled and knotted, do not attempt to brush it out. The brush will get stuck in the knots of the hair and will pull it straight out.
  • If you have dolls who have silky hair like Frankie, do not condition them. Conditioning silky hair can cause the hair to damage and they can fall off any time. Just comb their hair twice a day. If your doll has fluffy hair like Draculaura, wash it until the doll's hair get completely wet and then comb her hair as soon as you can. You can even use a straightener to straighten her hair.
  • If you want to clean the face, be sure to only use water if necessary hand soap too. Any toxic or chemicals can eventually eat away the rubber in the face or wipe the paint off.
  • If you toss the doll around and play with it too hard, this could cause their lower legs to break off with no possible repair. If it breaks at the thighs and there is elastic, there is an able fix. However, if there is no elastic on it, there is no cure.
  • Don't open or take the doll out of the box. Just leave it sealed in the box.

Warnings

  • If you try to boil perm her hair and the water is too hot, the hair will burn and lose it's softness and natural movement. And worse comes to worse, the hair can completely melt away.
  • If the fleece on dolls hair gets wet, it will come off right away, looking like a gross, non-fashionable fresh shave.
