How to Gift Wrap a Car

Need to wrap a car for a special occasion? Here is a list of instructions just for you!

    Put cards in the windows. Cut poster board to fit in the windshield, side and rear windows. Decorate the boards with glitter, stickers and happy sayings. Make sure the front one says something about the car’s recipient, like “Merry Christmas, Kate.” Prop the finished cards in the window.

    Arranged an array of smaller gifts on the hood. Gift wrap the car’s manual, a pair of driving gloves, car maintenance tools. leather wipes, ice scraper and whatever else you want to include with your gift.

    Adorn the hubcaps. Decorate four paper plates and duct tape one to each hub cap. You can quickly spray paint and stick some glitter on top or you can draw smiley faces or more happy sayings on the plates. Use thicker plastic plates for heavy duty décor.

    Add balloons. Get a bouquet of helium balloons tied with festive ribbons. Tie the ribbons inside the doors and trunk, and have the balloons wafting outward, embracing the car in the decorative hug.

    Now, to finish it off. Tape thicker ribbons streaming from the door handles and in a bow around the hood ornament. Drape thinner ribbon from the antenna and other places that could use a little more adornment. Make two more poster board cards to tape to the front and back license plate areas.


  • Remove all of the gift wrap before operating the vehicle.
