How to Find out How Long Your Computer Was On
Have you ever left your computer on for days and wondered if your computer was dangerously on for more than weeks? Or maybe you're just curious? Here's how you can find out. This has only been tested on Windows Vista, 7 and 8.
Steps
- 1Go to where you usually have your Task Manager.
- For Windows XP users, press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete buttons on your keyboard at the same time.
- For any version of Windows, press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc(ape) buttons on your computer at the same time.
- 2Go to the Performance tab.
- 3Look for the section called "Up Time". There, you will see how long your computer has been powered up. It will be in the order of Hours:Minutes:Seconds, or Days:Hours:Minutes:Seconds if your computer has been on for more than 24 hours.
- 4Return to the Applications tab.
Tips
- If you need to, you can find out your uptime in Mac OS X, Linux, OpenVMS or other versions of Windows.
