How to Filter Your wikiHow Watchlist Page

Three Methods:Filtering By TimeFiltering By Types of EditsFiltering By Namespace

Are you looking for a specific edit that your Watchlist should be showing, but can't seem to find the right article? Well, as long as this edit is the most current one, you can narrow the search down with a bunch of filters the wikiHow Watchlist provides. This article can help you filter out these articles.

Steps

    1
Open up your wikiHow Watchlist page.

Determine how you'd like to filter them. There are several ways to sort them. By single-namespaces, by time, or even by types of edits.

Method 1
Filtering By Time

  1. Image titled Filter Your wikiHow Watchlist Page Step 3
    1
Look for the line on your Watchlist that says "Show last 1 | 2 | 6 | 12 hours 1 | 3 | 7 days all". There are several links that can help narrow this done to as little as edits done in the past hour, or as big as edits done in the last 3 months (all-link).

    2
    Click the appropriate link.

    3
Be careful. The unit that exists covers more than just the one measurement of time they give to the left of the unit. It covers anything else to the left of itself. Hours corresponds to 1 hour, 2 hours, 6 hours and 12 hours; Days cover 1 day, 3 days, 7 days or all.

Method 2
Filtering By Types of Edits

    1
Know what types of edits you can hide, and what types of edits you can show. You can hide show edits that are from bots (robots that help the site achieve certain tasks), or you can hide your own edits from the Watchlist, or even hide/show those that are marked as a minor edit (m).

    2
Look for the line labelled "Hide bot edits | Show my edits | Hide minor edits" which should be the line underneath the time-filtering section on the page. There is no label that groups this section together on the Watchlist page.

Click the appropriate box. If it changes from show to hide or hide to show, you know the change has been successfully completed.

Method 3
Filtering By Namespace

    1
Interpret the type of item you are trying to narrow the search down. Does the name of the page start with wikiHow, or perhaps even User...or maybe it's User_talk. There are a lot of choices. (Main) is just another type of wording for articles that are wikiHow's article-topics.
  2. Image titled Filter Your wikiHow Watchlist Page Step 10
    2
Look for the label "Namespace: " which should be the (By Types of edits line) which has no label to group them together.
  3. Image titled Filter Your wikiHow Watchlist Page Step 11
    3
Find and click the option in the drop-down to the right of the labeled line for "Namespace".
