Warnings

  • Under no circumstances are you to say anything that could be perceived as an insult or offensive to the main religion Islam. It is considered an extremely important part of the UAE and insulting the religion could make some Muslims violent and it is very strongly discouraged and illegal and will probably land you in a bad jail for about 3-5 years with possible hard labor without access to a lawyer and consular officer's along with family members and very limited access to court. This is especially important if you will be traveling outside of major cities in the UAE.
  • Regarding the last warning outside of major cities don't try to bring up evidence about visiting Israel nor talk about it as some Muslims could get offended by that.
  • Do not bore yourself to death every night by going to sheesha cafes or watching showtime.
  • Never go out in public (with the exception of spas or beaches) wearing shorts and short sleeve clothes or sleeveless ones as it is considered extremely offensive as Islam requires that most of your skin is covered.
