Learn how to draw a portrait of a female in a few interesting steps.

Method 1
Front view

    Draw a circle for the head.

    Sketch a cross-like lines.

    Then, sketch 3 guidelines for the jaw. It should look like a trapezoid or a cup.

    Draw the jaw using a pen or any medium for drawing. Remember that this time, it is not a draft.

    Draw the neck and the ears. The two lines for the neck should be from the side of the jaw. The ears should be placed between the top horizontal line of the face guideline to the mid-part of the second and third line.

    Erase the draft lines.

Method 2
Side View

    Start by drawing the basic features of the side view of the face. These circles and lines are to help you make it accurate and recognize the features.

    Add the features of the face, and erase the line in front of the face. Then draw curved lines so it looks like a face. Add some rough hair.

    Sketch additional head details. Draw the hair properly, then add the ear, eye, and lips.

    Draw the eyelashes around the eyes and add eyebrows above.

    Darken the features. Erase the circles you drew for guides. (This is tricky work, so be careful.) Next, reinforce the features to make them more realistic. Add lines on the head to shade the hair.

Tips

  • Do it lightly first, because if you make a mistake you can rub it out easily.
  • Find inspiration. Look at what other people have drawn. Practice all the time and you will be drawing like a professional!

  • Remember, it will take time to learn this properly. If you don't get it the first time, just practice, practice, and practice.
  • Work in a spot where no one can disturb you.
