How to Draw a Cool World Map

Hi to all of you, what I am about to show you is a 'guide' to how to draw a 'world map' that is cool. Oh, and also, not the REAL world, but a FICTIONAL one.

Steps

    Find an IDEA. Like, you want maybe to do the world of the future which will be similar to the real world, or an alien planet with little if no 'liquid' water.

    On a draft paper, draw the OVERALL CONTINENTS, with no islands. Simple as that!

    Draw 'large' islands. Island the size of Borneo, or Great Britain...

    This is important; Draw 'Antarctica'. Just a lump of ground? No problem; just draw it.

    Add the tiny details now.

    Review your draft. Is there an area that needs improving?

    There! Copy it on a blank piece of paper.

    Almost good to go. Is it a border showing map? Put countries. Or maybe it's a height showing map. Put colors.

    OK! Final review. Make sure there is no white.

    Final of the final step, show it to friends/family, they will obviously give you advice.

Tips

  • If you want, you can put black ink on the pencil and erase the pencil.
  • Your pencils must be longer than your fingers.
  • Don't make very regular continents. Like, no squares and circles.
  • Don't go for it without thinking! Will it be on large paper and used in a board game? OK! Just make the countries bigger, like in Risk.

Warnings

  • Smudges! You hate smudges! They ruin everything, so before you color in, erase them.
  • Do not put too many small islands. Details are good, but look at the African coasts; they're smooth.
