How to Download Translated TED Talks

TED Talks are conferences held in order to raise awareness about a wide range of issues, to help people broaden their understanding of many "Ideas Worth Spreading" (the site's slogan). If you are interested in TED, you may enjoy downloading translated videos and keeping a list of your favorite digital device for review and for use in class or teaching situations.

    Decide which TED video you would like to download. It's most useful to focus on the topics of interest to you or that you're teaching in. Visit the the official website at and browse the varied playlists on offer there.

    Begin the download. Notice that there's a short bio of the speaker on your left. Then you'll notice that there is a Download bottom on the right. Click on this Download link to activate the download to your computer.

    Change to your language. Choose your mother tongue from the Subtitles Menu. This will automatically translate to your language.
    • If your language isn't listed yet, don't worry! Wait for a few days until someone on the site translates that video.

    Use audio instead. If you have a bad or slow internet connection, downloading an audio file is the best way to watch the video. This is also good for listening on r digital media player.
