How to Do Well in Any Board Chemistry Exam

Two Methods:Follow N.C.E.R.T (the general way)Prepare from reference books like Pradeeps

Board examinations are quite easy to crack and score really good marks. All that is needed is clarity in concepts and smart study.

Method 1
Follow N.C.E.R.T (the general way)

  1. Image titled Teacher
Find a good teacher to help you understand and memorize the textual part of N.C.E.R.T book.
    • A beginner can not directly jump to the chapter and learn the text.
    • Although some chapters are a bit easy and one can do them on his own.
  2. 2
Ask your teacher to introduce you to the topic and the main concepts.
    • After you understand the main topics, tackle the subtopics as this way you wont confuse concepts.
    • The reactions should be understood in depth. Though in the book these aren't elaborated much, but you can get help from teacher or you can search internet yourself.
  3. 3
Read the in text questions and try to find answers yourself.
  4. 4
Go for the exercises and maintain a good copy for the work
    • Note the answers fairly

    • Get your doubts cleared without lagging them.
  5. 5
Observe the pattern of questions asked.
  6. 6
Analyze each and every question in the book as the variety is less.
  7. 7
Maintain the copy nicely and effectively.
  8. 8
This copy will help you at the eleventh hour and keep you calm.
    • Ensure that the notebook has all the main concepts with formula, derivations, facts, reactions, and all questions in a systematic manner.
    • You can use a diary because we can open it up and shuffle pages as per our need.

    Revise everything regularly
    • Do not leave a single line unread and understand each and every topic as much deeply as you can.

Method 2
Prepare from reference books like Pradeeps

  1. 1
Read Reference books. They have a whole lot of theory and unnecessary things which need no attention so stick to the syllabus and read only the topics mentioned in syllabi.
    • The variety of questions is huge and so each type has to be paid importance not the number.
  2. 2
    Get a teacher's guidance
  3. 3
Follow most steps as mentioned in N.C.E.R.T method(above).

  • Never leave anything in doubt. Because your doubts might come in form of questions in your exam itself.
  • Try to complete the tasks in time.
  • Boards exams stick to N.C.E.R.T text , so thorough reading and understanding is must.
  • Direct questions from exercises are mostly asked.
  • Reference books are for various different exams such as entrances etc, so it is not advisable to take every topic seriously which is mentioned in any thick book.

  • Do not leave previous years questions as they are mostly repeated.
  • Never blindly trust any teacher. Because most teachers tend to leave important topics, have not even seen previous year's papers, not even know the syllabi and just go on boasting themselves for their knowledge.
  • Nothing is difficult, only understanding is required.
  • Organic chemistry part in the N.C.E.R.T is not good, so refer a book which has the basics and clarifies reaction mechanisms.
