How to Do a Thigh Stand in Cheerleading

Need a fairly easy stunt for your cheerleading squad? Well, you've come to the right place! This article will instruct you on how to do a thigh stand!

Steps

    Stretch. If you don't, you will tear or hurt a muscle, which you do not want. You wouldn't be able to cheer!

    Make sure you have at least 2 bases, one left, and one right. Also, you'd need a back spotter and if you'd like, a front spotter. And don't forget your flyer!

    The left and right bases stand facing each other, the flyer in the middle but not blocking the bases' view of each other. The back spotter stands behind the flyer. The front spotter in front if you have one. The spotters hold the flyer's waist the entire time.

    The bases bend one of their knees, not letting the other knee touch the ground. The bases feet are next to another, side by side.

    The back spotter holds on to the flyers waist and helps her up onto the bases' thighs.

    The flyer holds her arms up into a high V. Make sure, if you are the flyer, make sure you are very tight.

    To bring the flyer down, the bases bring up one arm and the flyer grabs onto them. The bases and spotter(s) will lower her down. If you have a front spotter, the front spotter would grab the waist of the flyer and lower her down.

Tips

  • If you are a flyer, don't press to hard on the bases' thighs. You don't want to hurt them.
  • Be tight with your movements.
  • Make sure you stretch.
  • Don't forget to smile!

Warnings

  • Although this stunt is easy, all stunts are dangerous. Use caution.
  • If you're a base, be careful with the flyer's feet on your thigh.
  • Make sure you have an open field or area. If you don't, use caution or you might bump into or break something, an object or a bone!
