How to Dispute an NFD Tag
Do you object to the nomination for deletion of a particular article on wikiHow? Unfortunately, only Administrators and New Article Boosters are allowed to remove {{Nfd}} templates. However, there are some things that you can do in the week or two before consensus is achieved on whether to delete the article or not.
Steps
- 1Provide a more distinct or specific title. If the article is cited as a being a duplicate because it has a title similar to an existing title, you can request that the title be changed.
- Remember to review the merge policy for guidance on choosing a title that will likely not be considered a duplicate.
- Please feel free to message an Administrator or the Help Team to clear any confusion you might have about this issue.
- 2Improve the article to bring it up to wikiHow standards. A careful reading of the wikiHow Deletion Policy will provide valuable information on what might need to be improved or changed for a specific deletion reason code.
- Make sure you have addressed the specific concerns called out by the deletion tag(s).
- 3Click on Preview, at the bottom of the page and carefully review your changes. If the article is well-written, helpful, and properly formatted, it will have a better chance of surviving to live a long life.
- 4Click on Publish, at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
- 5Add a detailed explanation on the Discuss page. Once the improved article has been published, leave a polite, objective, and specific discussion message stating how you improved the article and why you are against deletion. This message will be read and carefully considered by those who review the nomination before they cast their vote on whether to delete the article or not.
