Spend plenty of time with your child. Parents should spend plenty of time with their children because this will later ensure that they know they are being cared for and loved. This will also lead to a nice atmosphere in the house.

Ask questions with a mild voice. Temperament really affects the way by which parents ask their children questions. No matter the temperament, always ask your child a question in a mild voice.

Avoid holding grudges or malice against your child. No matter how badly your child behaves, your love for them should never wilt. Consider your child and their behavior as two different matters: this way you can hate the wrongdoings, yet love your child with all your heart. Love them no matter how the odds are stacked against them or what their attitude is.

Pamper a child as appropriate. Take your child on a fun outing, show them great love and tell them that something they did is not right when a need for that arises. Never agree to the bad things your child does simply because they are yours.

Tell your child what they are meant to know. You should show your child what is wrong and right. Never feel bad to let your child know bad thing because when you miss the opportunity of letting him/her knowing the bad things, definitely the child will still know of it from peer groups and this is where danger normally sets in because the child peers might not know the dangers associated to that. As a result, your child will not understand the dangers associated with that act; he'll/she'll go out and try it, and most probably will get into trouble. As a parent, never let someone else do your responsibility. Do not feel shy to say something to your child.

Monitor your child's attitude. Parents should monitor their children's attitude, but that doesn't mean you should poke your nose in their affairs. Remember, ask them question about certain things you need to know always with a mild voice. As a parent, you have every right to know your child's affair and monitor your child's life but that does not imply poke nosing. When a parent pokes nose on its child affair, it will make the latter to be secretive and when your child starts being secretive, he will no longer trust telling you things and will go on trusting their friends, these who will handle him/her wrong advice that will lead to troubles in the future.

Pray to God. It is not easy to do all these things without God. Ask God to strengthen you and you will definitely end up having a nice relationship with your child.

  • Spend time together as a family because it provides a sense of being loved.
  • Let you environment be void from fear.
  • Read books about family life, relationships, and temperament.
  • Go to inspiring seminars about family relationship.
  • Love your child and always, when possible, teach them new ideas.
  • Remember, never use physical punishment. (If you truly feel the need to, use it sparingly and never to inflict pain.) When a child does something wrong, always caution and keep loving him/her.

  • When you ask your child a question in a harsh voice, there is less chance to get the truth from him/her. This is because you have already tensed the child due to your harsh voice. No matter what or how severe the situation is, ask your child in a mild tune in order to hear the truth.
  • If you fail to do your responsibility as a parent, then someone else will do it for you either in a good way or in a bad way. A child should always adhere to its parent and do not let your peers influence you in a bad way.
