How to Delete a Slide in PowerPoint

Are there any extraneous slides that shouldn't be shown in your PowerPoint presentation? If you'd like to delete these extraneous slides, follow the directions in this article.

Steps

    Open up Microsoft PowerPoint.

    Open up your file for which you'd like to delete a slide.

    Locate the slide you'd like to delete.

    Ensure that the Viewing area that includes 2 tabs-Outline View and Slide View is able to be seen.

    Make sure that the Slide View is the set view.

    Right-click directly onto the slide you'd like to delete.

    Click "Delete Slide" from the drop-down that is displayed.

Tips

  • You can also click the "Edit" menu option from the menu toolbar at the top of your screen, and click "Delete slide" from the list.

Warnings

  • Remember that when you delete the slide and have saved your work, it is no longer replaceable into the document. You will have lost the slide completely. You can however, restore the slide, if you haven't saved yet, by using the "Undo" keyboard shortcut or Undo command from the "Edit" menu from the menu bar.
