How to Cube Bread

Cubed bread is a tasty and also creative alternative to regular bread, especially when spread with butter or jam. You can toast bread and then cube it or vice versa, but the actual process of cubing remains the same in both methods. Follow the steps below to learn how to cube bread!

Steps

    Toast the slices of bread for three to five minutes, or until they are slightly golden brown. You do not necessarily have to toast bread to cube it, but toasting does give bread a nice appearance/consistency.

    Slice a piece of bread into two as shown in the illustration. Start from the top part of the bread, then slice it downwards, creating two perfect halves.

    After you have sliced the bread into two pieces, slice each piece again. You should now have four strips of bread, sliced lengthwise--not four squares!

    Flip the four strips of bread. They should now be placed horizontally on the chopping board. Slice the strips four more times to create sixteen little squares

    Separate the squares from each other so that you have individual pieces of cubed bread. You can now use the cubed breads on salads, with cheese and dip for appetizers at a party, or even for turkey/chicken stuffing.
