How to Crop a Video in Adobe Premiere Pro

Adobe Premiere Pro is a high level video editor that has a lot of power to it. The problem with a strong, commercial product is that they can be difficult to figure out for the beginners. Cropping a video is something that people who don't know how to use the program might want to know, sooner than later.

Steps

    Open up Adobe Premiere Pro. If you don't already have your project set up, you will need to do it when you start it up.

    If you don't already have your video in the program, import your media (your video).

    Once you have it in your project tab, drag it to the timeline.

    Select Effects at the top center of your screen.

    Go to the Effects tab. It should be in your Project window.

    Go to Video Effects and press the arrow that you see beside it. Scroll down to Transform.

    Select Transform and locate the Crop effect.

    Click on the Crop effect and drag it over to the timeline. This will open up the Effects Controls.

    Go to where it says Left in the Effects Controls window. Slide using the arrow cursor to place the left side where you want it.

    Repeat the process on all sides. Remember, you are better off framing your shot correctly, than cropping it down.
