How to Create Background Colour in TextEdit (Macs)

If you want your text in TextEdit look more special, you could add background colour to it. Read this article for tips on how you can add background colour to your text.

Steps

    Open your document of TextEdit.

    Highlight the text.

    Move your cursor to the middle-top of the page.

    Click the icon that has the letter "a" on it with a diagonal line.
    • When you click the button, a drop-down box will appear under the icon, with colours you could choose from. The colours are for what colour you would like your background to be.

    Choose a colour you'd like your background to be.

    Click anywhere not on the text to make the text background show up.

Tips

  • Make sure you don't click the icon for different colour text instead of background. The background colour icon has an "a" on it, while the text icon has whole-colour on it.
