How to Create a Wi Fi Network With Just a Computer

Some older Internet routers lack the capability to transmit a Wi-Fi signal. However, by using "Ethernet" (a port that looks similar to a phone jack), one could transmit a Wi-Fi signal through their Macintosh computer. This article will teach you how to share your internet access with other computers using a Mac.

Steps

    Go to System Preferences. Just click the Apple icon and it will be one of the options.

    Click the pane called "Sharing." It has an icon of a yield sign over a folder.

    Click the lock at the bottom left corner of the window. Type in an administrator username and password.

    Click the box called "Internet Sharing."

    Under "Share your connection from:", choose "Ethernet."

    Tick off the checkbox below that says "AirPort."
