How to Create a USB Cord Pouch
USB Cords are long and often noticeable, but mine are always every which way. It's hard to keep 3 or more USB Cords neat and easy to reach because the cords always get knotted. No one wants to spend a long time making something to keep them neat. You can make a quick USB Cord pouch in about five minutes to keep your USB cord neat.
Steps
- 1Get a piece of plain copy paper. Fold it in half height wise.
- 2Cut along the crease you made.
- 3Fold one of the half's lengthwise.
- 4Staple all the way up one unfolded side of the paper. There should now be 2 unfolded sides, one on top and one on the side.
- 5Staple all the way up the unfolded side (not the unfolded top).
- 6Staple the top until there is a big enough gap to fit your USB Cord in. It only need to be big enough to fit the end where you plug the USB into your iPod, Camera, Mp3, etc.
- 7Slowly and carefully stick the end where you plug the cord into your device into the pouch
- 8Gently slide the rest of the cord into the pouch. Leave the other side that you plug into your computer on the outside of the pouch to grab the cord when you need it.
- 9Place the pouch beside your computer or someplace nearby.
Tips
- Label the pouch with what the USB cord is used for (Camera, iPod, etc).
- The bigger the pouch, the easier for the USB to go in and out.
- Fabrics work nicely for the USB pouch, too.
- Color the pouch so it won't look so dull.
- If you make several pouches, you may want to place them in a small box.
- If you use fabric, sewing may look nicer than staples.
Warnings
- Do not make the pouch too small, it will cause you trouble to get the USB out.
- Do not place the whole USB in the pouch, it may get stuck, causing you to rip the pouch open.
- Do not place more than 1 USB in the pouch. They will get knotted and there will be no use for the pouch.
