How to Create a Photography Portfolio with Posterous

There are many reasons for wanting to create a photographic portfolio, ranging from professional, school, family, or just because you'd really like to make one. However, it can prove to be a difficult project to undertake because there are a lot of things to do to put a good photography portfolio in place. Posterous is one program that can make it easy for you. Assuming that you have a Posterous account, here is how to create your photography portfolio using it.

  1. 1
    Go to and log in.
  2. 2
In the center of your screen, click on "Post by web". Here you will see the screen that allows you to name the portfolio and upload the images or files.
  3. 3
Click on "Upload images, audio, video, and docs". This will open up a dialog screen for you to select images. When completed, the list of files to be uploaded will be gone and you will see one image to the left of the screen. Each set of uploads will have a single 'cover' file.
    • When selecting images, be aware that there is a 100 megabyte limit. It is a good idea to downsize your images before uploading them.
  4. 4
Click on "Post options". This allows you to add tags, if desired, to your portfolio post.
  5. 5
Click on "Post". This will send the portfolio post to the blog and will tell you when it is complete and take you there.
  6. 6
Take a look at what you have just added. In the screenshot, you see a selected photo and the other various photos that were uploaded.
    • When you look at your images, you may notice that the theme doesn't 'go' with your photos. All you need to do is change the theme to change the look.
