How to Copy a Small Image on a Scanned Document

Here is a quick and easy way to copy a small part of a scanned document in Microsoft Paint.

Steps

    Open the scanned document in Microsoft Paint.

    Click on the Select icon and select the part that you want to copy.

    To copy the selected area, click Copy under the Edit menu (or hit Ctrl+C).

    Open a new blank image by clicking New under the File menu (or hit Ctrl+N).

Tips

  • The new blank image will sometimes be too big. To fix this, go to attributes under the Image menu & type 50 pixels for both height and width before pasting the image. If your copied image is larger, the area will automatically adjust to the dimensions of the pasted image.
  • To copy an irregular area, use the Free-form Select instead of just Select (in step 2).

Warnings

  • It is a good idea to make a copy of the scanned document and save it in a safe folder before starting.
