How to Connect PC Wireless Gaming Receiver

A PC Wireless Gaming Receiver allows you to use an Xbox wireless controller on your Windows computer. By using the receiver, you can have the same gaming experience across PC and the Xbox. Scroll down to step 1 to know how easy it is to connect an Xbox PC Wireless Gaming Receiver to a computer and use it.

Steps

    Plug in the the Gaming Receiver. The receiver connects to a USB port on your computer.

    Download the Wireless Gaming Receiver’s driver. You can download the driver here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/downloads.

    Click on the “Gaming” tab.

    Click on “Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows.

    Click on the drop-down list and select the operating system your computer is running on.

    Click on the “Download” button. It is found under the Software and Driver section.

    Run the driver and proceed with the installation process. The driver installation process is fairly simple and composed mostly of a series of clicking the “Next” button.

    Use the Wireless Gaming Receiver. If the installation is successful, a small notification bubble will pop up at the lower right of the screen (on the task bar icons) telling you that the driver has been detected, installed, and that you can now use the PC Wireless Gaming Receiver.

Tips

  • Make sure to purchase authentic PC Wireless Gaming Receivers. You can get one over the Internet or straight from Microsoft. Beware of cheap knock-offs!
  • If your gaming receiver came with a CD installer, then you don’t need to download the driver from the Internet. Place the CD installer into your computer’s CD-ROM and run it from there.
  • Download the driver straight from Microsoft’s website only, to avoid any suspicious malware.
