How to Connect an Apple Mac Mini to an HDTV

Steps

    Obtain an HDMI cable. All new HDTVs have an HDMI port. Mac Minis made in 2010 or later have an HDMI port.

    Connect the HDMI cable. Be sure to connect it to both ports!

    Turn on your TV

    Select the input to HDMI. If you have multiple HDMIs, then you should select the the option matching the port you plugged the cable into.

Tips

  • If you have a pre-2010 model, these steps will not work. You will need to purchase a DVI cable or an adapter for a VGA cable. These interfaces do not support audio, so you need to purchase a speaker.
