Find a nice, suitable box in which to keep your ornaments. The box should be sturdy, easy to store, and vermin-proof. You could also consider marking on the top of the box "Fragile: Christmas ornaments" so that anybody who comes across the box will know to handle it carefully. Try lining the box with cotton or fabric to keep the ornaments safe.

Tell friends and family about your collection. There are many people out there who keep these old fancy Christmas ornaments that they probably will never use and might like to pass on to you.

Visit your local dump, thrift store, or junkyard. This is especially handy right after Christmastime, when many people throw out their ornaments. Be sure to look in the "Tree" section of your dump. Many people don't take their ornaments off the tree; they just throw their tree out with the ornaments hanging on it. You'll also be helping the people working at the dump by taking off the plastic ornaments.

Go to any store after Christmas. Stores sell ornaments for extremely low prices after Christmas so that they can get rid of the holiday stuff and bring in the New Year's items. It will be easy to find ornaments after the holidays!
