How to Care for Short Hair Using Jojoba Oil

Two Methods:Long-Term CareShort Term Care

Short hair is generally easily cared for in contrast to long hair, but what about those bad hair days? The fabulous people with short hair can't just throw their hair in a ponytail and go. So, what if you could avoid bad hair days using jojoba oil?

Method 1
Long-Term Care

  1. 1
Make a strong deep conditioner. This deep conditioner is strong enough to prevent your hair from breaking and shield your color. But, it is also a great deep conditioner in that it doesn't make your hair oily.
    • In a plastic bowl, mix one part jojoba oil and one part over-the-counter hot oil treatment.

Wash your hair. In an empty plastic bottle, mix about 7/8 parts shampoo and 1/8 part jojoba oil.
    • Wash your hair with this shampoo every other day to see the same effects as the deep conditioner. It may take a little bit longer to see the same effects, but is better if you're-bought shampoo.

Make a more everyday conditioner for undamaged hair. This is typically for people whose hair isn't as damaged and doesn't need a deep conditioner.
    • In an empty plastic bottle, mix four parts hair conditioner, two parts jojoba oil, one part cocoa butter, and one part water.

Method 2
Short Term Care

    1
Dab some jojoba oil onto your hands and rub into hair. This is particularly good for blow drying short curly and damaged hair. The curls retain their shape closer to the cuticle and damaged hair doesn't split as badly.

    2
Use a brush with jojoba oil on the bristles. For short hair, it'll smooth out closer to the cuticle and won't further damage not-so-great hair.
    • This can also prevent flyaways.
    • Warning: Don't use too much or your hair will be greasy. When you don't have anything going on, try to see what works best for you.
  3. 3
Work jojoba oil through tangles. Especially on curly hair, you can easily untangle matted knots with a couple drops of jojoba oil.
    • Using a dropper, put about three or four drops onto a tangle.
