How to Block Someone in Basketball

Ever want to block a shot in a basketball game and make the crowd go wild? This is how.

Steps

    Be aware of your timing. If the person shooting is already about to let go of the ball, don't bother and try to box out and get the rebound. If they aren't about to do this, go to the next step.

    Jump at an angle towards the offender and extend one arm, the one that's closer to the ball, and reach as high as you can. Remember to bend your knees and explode upwards for maximum height.

    Do not swing down, but swing your arm(s) at the ball and away from your body.

    Make contact with the ball and "swat" it.
