How to Become a Power Booster

Have you considered becoming a New Article Booster? Read this to improve your chances of becoming a power booster.

  1. 1
Become familiar with the various wikiHow policies.
  2. 2
Check out the new pages page. Go through those articles and assess how helpful they are. Edit them to help them thrive within our guidelines.
    • Consider how helpful and complete each of the articles is and decide what actions you'd take on them as a booster. Such decisions could include:
      • Nominating the article for deletion if it clearly violates the Deletion Policy.
      • Deciding if you think an article would be a good candidate for a template or moving to Quality Review. This is usually a good choice if it needs significant expansion or editing before going live for readers.
      • Making some type of edit. If there is some bad formatting or it contains spelling errors, fix it. Correct the obvious mistakes as you see them.
  3. 3
Develop thick editing skin. You cannot be afraid to do any major editing. Be creative with your editing skills if an article looks to be reasonable.
  4. 4
Quit thinking like a patroller. Patrollers typically submit "quick" or small edits and place a suitable template (if needed), before moving onto the next edit. That is not saying you cannot put a template on it, just think about what could be done with the article before you do.
  5. 5
Find out about taking the NAB test. It is a long and drawn out process, so do not expect to complete it quickly. A reminder or question is acceptable when asking about your progress, but do not harass the person.
