How to Be a Great Sleepover Host

When you are a host of a party you want to make your guests feel comfortable. If you are having trouble doing that then this may be just the guide for you!

Steps

    Prepare. Make sure you have music, movies, games and other activities available for your guests.

    Show them around the house. When guests arrive, give them a tour of the house; show them where the bathroom and the phone are, in case of any emergencies. Also tell them the "off limits areas" such as parents rooms, studies, siblings rooms, or any other room your parents don't want people barging in.

    Get acquainted. Have your guests introduce themselves so everyone gets to know each other.

    Start the party. Turn on some music everyone will enjoy, soon enough you will be dancing your feet off.

    Bring out some snacks. But most times everyone likes pizza. So, just make sure you bring at least 2 different toppings.

    Entertain. When you are finished eating, bring out a couple of games to play so your guests will be entertained and not bored.

    Settle on something to do. Start to have a vote on what movie you want. Make sure you check with your friend's parents to see if the ratings are okay.

    Be kind. If your friend wants to go to the bathroom, pause the movie so they don't miss out. You can also have mid-night snack breaks if your guests (or even you) are hungry.

    When your movies are over,stay up all night watch TV

    Finally when you wake up and everybody else is awake, you can ask your mom or dad to make everyone breakfast. Make eggs, pancakes, bacon, toast, or even fancy omelets, and remember the guests always come first.

    If your guests don't like the food, try to make something else. You can also go out to eat, too.

    Play some games in the morning like blindfolded makeovers, telephone, etc.

    When your friend's parents come, make sure you thank them for coming to your sleepover. Also make sure they don't forget their stuff.

    Clean!. The party might be over but you have a mess to clean up: candy wrappers, dirty dishes, games, and crafts.

Tips

  • If they are a vegetarian, make sure you have things for them too.
  • Food suggestions - Doritos, popcorn, m&ms, Skittles, potato chips, fruits and veggie platter, gum, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and Oreos.
  • If they don't like the music and you can tell, turn something they might like on.
  • Ask the guests what they would like to do.
  • Make sure they bring the following: toothbrush, sleeping bag, pillow, books, favorite games.

Warnings

  • Make sure you know if they have allergies, or need to take medication.
  • Your guests might not all enjoy the same things, so have a wide variety of food and activities available.
  • If they feel homesick let them call their parents to make them feel better.
  • If they get sick call their parents to see if they can pick them up.
  • Don't scream or have music up loud when your parents are asleep, you could get into trouble for waking them up (keep your music low and calm).
  • If someone is fighting ask them to calm down.
  • If your friends don't like scary stories or hide and go seek in the dark don't play it. They might not want to come over again if you play them.
  • Also if your parents are awake you have neighbors to worry about.
  • If some people don't get along well try to keep them separate or see if they can make friends!
