How to Avoid Passing Judgement

Although some people may seem to be in a similar situation as you and may act differently their actions are based on things and situations you may not be aware of.     Relate with them: Try to put yourself in their shoes.

    Be objective: Keep your feelings on the issue to yourself (not everyone wants to hear if you would or wouldn't do something differently).

    Think over it: Maybe the person is giving you a sign that they are unhappy or upset about something else. Their actions could be giving you clues.

    Give them a chance to speak: Ask them why they are choosing to behave or act the way they are maybe they can help you understand why they choose to act the way they do.

    Think of your bond: If this person is your friend remember why they are your friend, don't let one incident or action ruin a good friendship (don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch).

    Try not to assume that other people are passing judgement when they express an opinion. Try to be subjective when someone makes a statement. People can have opinions on things beyond whether they think they are singularly good or bad.

  • Have trust and faith
  • Remember to be patient.

Warnings

  • If a person tells you that you are being judgemental don't try to argue with them, it usually just ends up in you digging yourself into a deeper hole.
  • Some people don't like to have their lives under scrutiny, if they start to seem offended stop paying so much attention to them.
