How to Avoid Handing in Assignments Late
Two Methods:Not enough time/too tiredForgetful
Do you find yourself always "forgetting" to hand in projects, homework, essays, etc. in on time? Your grades don't have to suffer any longer! There are easy and simple ways to get things turned in on the due dates, which will save you time and stress. Read on to learn more.
Steps
Method 1 Not enough time/too tired
- 1Set aside a time for just homework and school projects. It should be right when you get home, so you don't forget. Or if you think better after the day is done, you can try after dinner. But be careful not to do it too late.
- 2Stay dedicated to the set time. If you are struggling to remember, set an alarm on your phone, computer, game system, etc. so you won't lose track of time with technology.
- 3Let your family know. Say nicely "In order to get homework in on time, I really need you guys to leave me alone from 3 o'clock to 4:30" or something like that. They'll understand and be proud of you for trying to solve your problem.
- 4Once you sit down to work, free yourself of distractions like iPods, cell phones, computers (unless needed for the assignment), video games. If you feel too tempted, turn the devices off or put them in a separate room.
- 5Get organized. Have a folder for every subject and one for random items. Avoid shoving papers into your desk or backpack aimlessly. Of course you will lose them that way.
- 6Get a routine and stick to it. It may take weeks, but soon you will get into a rhythm that is hard to break.
Method 2 Forgetful
- 1Set aside a time for just homework and school projects. It should be right when you get home, so you don't forget. Or if you think better after the day is done, you can try after dinner. But be careful not to do it too late.
- 2Stay dedicated to the set time. If you are struggling to remember, set an alarm on your phone, computer, game system, etc. so you won't lose track of time with technology.
- 3Put up reminders in your room, in school books, and any other places you can find. Leave a sticky note on your mirror saying when a project is due. When you get an assignment at school, write a note and leave it in one of your homework books, so when you open it, the reminder is seen.
- 4Get a friend to help. Ask him/her to call/text you the night before something is due to remind you. A good friend would be happy to help.
- 5Find out if you are simply too busy. Maybe three clubs, basketball, and student council is too much.
- 6Get a routine and stick to it. It may take weeks, but soon you will get into a rhythm that is hard to break.
