Figure out what's causing the problem. Do you have practice of some kind every day until six? Do you spend too much time talking online once you get home? Do you just plain procrastinate? Once you have identified the problem, all you have to do is figure out the solution.

Plan time to spend on homework. After school, on the bus from school, right before dinner... write all these down on a paper, then stick it on the fridge or any other area that you visit daily. Try your best to stay on track with these plans. Create a deadline for each assignment.

Make a prize or punishment relating to how much work you did. Did you work on all your homework in the time you said you would? Fantastic! Invite your friends (if you have permission) to go with you to a movie or something like that. Did you forget to do your homework until the day of and had to do a rushed job of it? Oh, well, you can try again tomorrow! Now, you can't go out to eat with your friends (or something like that). Make sure to stick to your rules and not skip out.

Avoid temptation. Turn off the computer, television, or whatever else is distracting you. Limit yourself to three to four hours of extra screen time per day if needed. Are you so caught up in that book that you can't help but say "One more chapter"? Ok, read that chapter, but then stop, no matter what.

If you just have too much stuff to do, break it up into smaller chunks. Do the first half of the assignment in study hall, do the other half after school. Just avoid doing it late at night or in the morning because you'll be too sleep deprived to answer to your best capacity.

Get your friends to help. Tell them to remind you to do it after school. If you don't understand something, ask them for help. Convince them to do the same deadline/time thing as you, and compete to see who can complete the most work in the allowed time.

Just do it. Realize that doing it in the morning will in no way help your grades, and that you need to fix it. If you remember that you have to do while you're right in the middle of a game level, get off the game and do it. It's better than doing it in the morning.

Think about how much you'll thank yourself in the future. Think about how you'll feel when you see that A. Think about how you'll feel once you get it done. Doing homework in the morning won't help you, and you need to stop doing it so you can get better grades and be in a better mood.

Tips

  • Remember that mornings really are the most important part of the day. They'll set you up for the day ahead, so remember that you'll feel so much better if you wake up knowing you can eat a full breakfast for once.

Warnings

  • Don't push yourself too hard. If you find yourself up at three o'clock in the morning doing math so you don't have to do it in the morning, stop and plan. Do the things you know are the most important and save the easiest for last.
