If you have a boy/girl friend don't talk about him and if your friend doesn't have a boy/girl friend try talking to them and ask them who they like if don't already know. Try to make a conversation about them, not about you unless they ask you. Don't say whatever and sit down and don't talk about your crush. If you tell your friend, you just might have a wingman to help you out as well! We've all been there, and who else but your friends will help you?

Don't talk about things you don't understand. If two people are trying to have a conversation about nuclear fission and you don't know anything about that, then ask questions. They might appreciate your interest if you're genuinely going to try to understand because it shows that you want to be involved in their intimacy in some way. No they will think you are annoying and walk away. Hey, if you are truly interested, look it up later! There's nothing wrong with that.

Control your bodily functions. No one likes a gas machine. It's OK to occasionally let one out on your friend, but not too often. Burping is also okay once in a while, but don't do it every five seconds. Also, whether you know it or not, burps can smell bad and people do not like them breathed in their face.

Don't crack your knuckles all the time. This is more of a thing you do by yourself. Its okay to crack once or twice, but don't be one of those people who cracks every bone in their body, one right after the other. If you notice when this happens, conversation is killed in the group.

If someone tells you a joke or says something witty, don't just sit there and laugh. Think of something to say. And not just any old thing. Ask a question relating to the topic of the joke or something. If all you do is laugh [although sometimes this behavior is put up in order for the person to escape to their own mind because they may be bored with the same old dull conversations and dull people. Maybe they chose not to say anything because they didn't feel it would be worth it or result to anything positive. The person needs to feel completely comfortable in order to do this], that person (and in the long run, others) will only expect a giggle or two after you. They won't find you interesting and they'll, in turn, find you to be a pushover and pushovers are always annoying.
