How to Arrange Silk Flowers
Two Methods:Get Your Supplies ReadyCreate Your Flower Arrangement
It may look easy to arrange silk flowers, but it takes some effort to create a beautiful bouquet. If you want your flower arrangements to look professional, follow these steps.
Steps
Method 1 Get Your Supplies Ready
- 1Choose the vase you will use to hold your flower arrangement. This will determine both the height and the number of flowers you will use. A large arrangement requires a heavier vase.
- 2Purchase foam or clay to hold the flowers in place. Clay works better with heavier arrangements.
- 3Buy moss or fake grass to cover the foam or clay in the vase.
- 4Buy the flowers you want to use.
- 5Purchase a quality wire cutter to cut your flowers to the right length.
Method 2 Create Your Flower Arrangement
- 1Place larger flowers near the center so that they can be the focal point.
- 2Use wire cutters to cut the flowers to the desired length. The main flowers should sit just above the rim of the vase. Other elements may stand higher or lower, depending on the look you want.
- 3Fill in any gaps with greenery or leaves.
- 4Finished.
Tips
- Choose a few flowers to be the centerpiece of the arrangement and place the others around them.
- Put your flowers in a vase together as you buy them in the store. You can see what looks good together and know how many you will need.
- Make sure colors look good together. Do not use too many vibrant colors or they will compete with each other.
- Decorate with seasonal items like apples or walnuts, or accessories like ribbon and lace.
