How to Apply Egyptian Eye Makeup

We all love that Egyptian or Greek goddess smokey eye makeup look. It makes your eyes look bold and makes it stand out. Whether for a Halloween costume or just a dramatic makeup effect, with a little practice, you can achieve that look.

Steps

    Draw your desired eyebrow shape. Use an eyebrow with a small strokes, rather than drawing in a full stroke. It gives you a more natural and full look.

    Brush your eyebrow with an eyebrow brush to blend the color with your natural eyebrows.

    Clean off the sides of your eyebrows with concealer. Put concealer on the top and bottom of your eyebrow and blend it with concealer brush to give it a clean look.

    Set your desired eyebrow shape with the eyebrow gel.

    Prime the eyelids so the eyeshadow color can pop. Put concealer on top of it.

    Take a small piece of tape and line the side of your eyes with an angled shape, up to the end of your eyebrow. This will give you clean and sharp eye shadow line.

    Take gel eyeliner and make a ā€œVā€ shape on the middle of the eyelid. Start at the top of your eyeball and go to end of the eyelid.

    Blend that line with navy blue eye shadow. Use smudge brush to blend the black eyeliner and blue eyeshadow together. You can apply your own choice of eye shadow.

    Apply the color you want to put on the middle of the eyelid. Blend it with the previous shadow with medium eyeshadow brush. Blend both eye shadows with large eye shadow brush so there is no sharp line and it gives a more smokey effect to your eyes.

    Get a glitter shadow and gently apply it to the first half of the eyelid, near to the tear duct. This will make your eyes look more awake and give your shadow a dimensional look.

    Draw a winged line with your gel or liquid eyeliner. Make the end a little longer, which will make your eyes look bold.

    Take the tape off and draw a line on bottom water line with nude pencil. End the water line with black eyeliner. Don't connect it with top eyeliner but run parallel to that top eyeliner line, leaving a little space in between both lines.

    Grab your glitter eyeliner and draw a line in the middle of both top and bottom eye liner.

    Curl your lashes with lash curler. Give it 2 or 3 presses.

    Get your false eyelashes. You can chose between thick or natural shape. Glue them with your eye lash. This step is optional, only if you want to get the bold look.

    Apply a coat of mascara to blend them with natural lashes.

    Clean up your side of eye if you have any smudges. You are all done!

Tips

  • Try to keep your brows as natural as possible. Egyptian women had very striking and bold brows that were usually unruly, so let your undone brows shine!
  • To get a better result from eyelash curler, put it under your hair blow dryer for few seconds and it will give a curled lashes then usual.
  • If you don't have eye primer, you can use concealer instead.
  • To draw the "V" line on eyelid, you can use black eyeshadow with small eyeshadow brush instead of using get eyeliner.
  • If you don't have brush sets, you can use medium eyeshadow brush but make sure you clean it up between the uses.
  • You can use glitter eyeshadow instead of glitter eyeliner.
  • When applying false eyelashes, its easier when you start aligning the lashes from the outside to inside.That will help you see where you want eyelash to end and start pressing it down while going inside.
  • Also, after putting the glue on false lashes give it few seconds to dry then apply it (don't let it dry completely)
