How to Act Like an Extrovert on the First Day of School

You know you are an introvert, but you don't like to be one. You envy those people who are outgoing and sociable and totally wanted to be like them? Probably yes, but how? That is your personality and it's not going to be easy to change. However, you can follow the advice below and maybe you can come out of the small world of yours and to start socializing. The people from your new school will never know that you are actually an introvert.

    Know that when you first step into your school (or clubs), put on a confident look.

    Remember that at first, you may be thinking carefully what you are going to say before you say something, which is common. Once you've decided what to say, just say it! It is very important. Just shoot out everything from your mind. After that you'll be more comfortable and you will say anything without thinking too much.


  • Don't keep rehearsing what you going to say in your mind. Grab the courage and speak!
  • If possible, help those who are quiet or lonely by becoming friends with them.
  • There's nothing to fear about. Say it and get it done with. The more you speak the more guts you have and you'll never be scared to do it again. It's going to be just a step and you will find it easier to speak.
  • Empty your mind. extroverts tend to speak before thinking.
  • Procrastination comes from your thoughts. If your keep thinking in a negative way, you will most likely act negatively.


  • Take note that when you are shy, you tend to be nervous and what you say may not sound confident.
  • Don't be too quiet nor too talkative, as people will likely find you antisocial or noisy.
  • Don't keep the focus only on serious stuff, as introverts tend to say serious things, which has the potential to bore people.
  • If you are very introverted, a lot of stimulus will wear you out especially on the first couple days. Realize that you may need more time alone to recharge than extroverts do and try to allow yourself that time.
